On May 7th, more than 600 hundred business partners and civic leaders filled the Millennium Ballroom at the Loews Philadelphia to celebrate the community service involvement of the local business community, and to applaud their ongoing commitment to improving our region. Our theme this year was volunteer action that works, a salute to the efforts of corporate citizens that are producing real results.

The Corporate Leadership Breakfast marked Greater Philadelphia Cares 15th year of innovative volunteer service to the community. Zack Stalberg, Committee of Seventy CEO, hosted the event.

In addition to the presentation of the Philadelphia Cares STAR Awards, Renee Archawski, Greater Philadelphia Cares Executive Director gave a moving address about the impact volunteer action has on our community, and the impact it has had in her life. Mayor Nutter, upon accepting the Spirit of Philadelphia Award in honor of Thacher Longstreth, also addressed the crowd, inviting all to help create a renaissance in Philadelphia.
